Join us on Saturday, Nov. 4, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for the Timrod Library Fall Fest, an annual celebration of books, food, family, and fun. It's a festive way to kick off the season and get a head start on holiday shopping. Admission to Fall Fest is free and open to all, and as always, features our BIG BOOK SALE, with great deals on hundreds of books: fiction, nonfiction, history, hobbies, children’s literature, and much more. You never know what treasures you might find! Plus, shop for select vintage, rare, and unusual books in the Catherine Stewart Room! A smorgasbord of delicious food will also be on sale, including homemade casseroles, soups, and baked goods. Shop early to get the best selections and stock your freezer with delightful dishes ready for the holidays. The Hanahan Sweetgrass Basket Weavers, a perennial festival favorite, will be on hand, offering their charming baskets for sale. Summerville’s Bugs-in-a-Rug will demonstrate their rug weaving talents and offer raffle tickets to win some of their beautiful work. A variety of stationery and kitchen gift items will also be available. Take a chance on our 50/50 cash prize drawing and possibly pad your wallet while supporting the Library. All proceeds benefit the Timrod Literary and Library Association and our Library.
We love Volunteers! Fall Fest is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and you can help make it a success! Here are some ways you can join the fun: 1. Set up and cleanup. We need strong volunteers at the Library at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 to help set up tables and tents on the front lawn and to carry books out to the tents. After 2 p.m. on Nov. 4, we will also need help taking down tents and tables and cleaning up in and around the Library. 2. Buy tickets for the 50/50 cash prize drawing. Last year’s purse was over $500! Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. These are available NOW through Nov. 4 at the Library. 3. Come and shop on Nov. 4! As always, Fall Fest features our BIG book sale, with hardcover, paperback, children's books, plus rare, antique, and vintage editions. And you can start preparing for the holidays with food and gift items, including sweetgrass baskets. 4. Donate. Can't cook? No time volunteer or shop? Consider a monetary donation. Whatever you choose and whatever you can contribute, please know how much your support matters to the success of Fall Fest and the Timrod Library. Thank you!
