Donate today to support The Timrod Library and Dolly Parton's
Imagination Lib
rary!

Would you like to make a lifelong impact on the life of a child through books? The Timrod Library is partnering with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to do just that. From birth to five years, a child's exposure to reading cultivates lifelong learning habits. However, not every child or every family has access to age-appropriate books. Singer-songwriter Dolly Parton created her Imagination Library to bridge that gap.
The Imagination Library, aided by local affiliates like the Timrod Library, identifies children in communities and mails age-appropriate books directly to individual children each month. A child enrolled in the program at birth will have a personal library of sixty books by their fifth birthday! To register for the Imagination Library in the 29483 zip code, please visit the Timrod Library to enroll your child and receive the first book.
As an Imagination Library Affiliate, the Timrod Library pays for shipping costs for books sent to children in our community. Only $160 covers the shipping for a child to receive a book every month for five years, just $32 each year. The books are provided by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Since 2021, 780 children have been served with books! That is 15,094 books delivered into the homes, hands, and hearts of children under 5 in our community.
You can make a lifelong impact on a child's life with a donation of any amount. Your help is needed. Please consider these sponsorship levels:
          Sponsor Levels:
One child for one year           $32.00
One child for five years         $160.00
Five children for five years   $800.00
          Partner Level:
Ten children for five years   $1600.00

All contributions are 100% tax deductible. Donations can be made by choosing a payment option below, or by check, cash, or credit card at the Timrod Library. Please make checks payable to the "Timrod Library" and add "Dolly Parton's Imagination Library" to the memo line. You can also make a credit card donation via phone by calling the Timrod Library at 843-871-4600.

We have great news! Thanks to Representative Neal Collins, Superintendent Ellen Weaver, and the South Carolina Legislature, the Imagination Library will be expanding across South Carolina with matching funds from the state with a goal of making the program available to all South Carolina children under the age of five. Each donation made to our affiliate will now be matched 50% by the State of South Carolina.
