The historic Timrod Library will host a cooking show and book signing event in the Catherine Stewart Reading Room on November 17 at 3:00 pm. Resident storyteller Tim Lowry will tell stories from his new book “Haunted by Dickens” which features adventures from more than twenty years as a traveling Dickens interpreter. He will also demonstrate how to make a proper steamed Christmas pudding Mrs. Cratchit style! Tim Lowry’s love for Dickens began when he was cast as Ebenezer Scrooge in a second grade production of A Christmas Carol. As a professional storyteller, he has since told this story over 150 times to audiences from South Carolina to Alaska! Whether you’ve read Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol dozens of times or only watched an animated version on TV, you are bound to love how Storyteller Tim Lowry brings this classic tale to life with his entertaining interjections and enlightened insight on thirteen recurring themes throughout this beloved story.
