 Porch Stroll Benefit We're pleased to announce that the Summerville Bed and Breakfast Association has chosen the Timrod Library as the beneficiary of their inaugural Porch Stroll from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 12. Attendees at this event, in honor of National Iced Tea Day, will sip iced tea on some of Summerville’s most beautiful southern porches. The eight locations on the stroll itinerary will include several bed and breakfast inns and historic locations, including the Timrod Library. At each porch location, hosts will offer delectable treats and experiences including historic gardens, farm animals, live music, and artwork by local artists. In addition, several merchants in downtown Summerville will offer discounts to Porch Stroll attendees. Tickets are $30 per person and will be available on the Timrod Library website. Generous Support for Imagination Library The Timrod Library is an affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a literacy program that provides books for children up to five years. As an affiliate, the Timrod Library identifies children and raises funds to send books in the 29483 ZIP code. Timrod Board member Marcia Jonczak, who heads up this effort for our Library, reports on recent donations:

Come browse the sale shelf of gently used books in the front room of the Library. Hardcover books are $2, and paperbacks are 75 cents each or two for $1.
